After winning the first eight games of the playoffs easily, the Cavaliers are on the brink of elimination for the first time this postseason. The Magic won Game 4 in overtime last night to take a 3-1 series lead.
The Cavaliers have been a team that for the last few years, have been basically a one-man show. When that one man is LeBron James, though, it'll usually get them pretty far. They just can't seem to get over the hump.
Everyone had been gearing up for a Cavs-Lakers finals, and I think that would be a great series. If that were the case, my money would go on the Lakers. Why? They have a much more complete team than the Cavs.
I had my doubts about Cleveland, even though I did pick them to go to the Finals. When you have one superstar and some other servicable players, that makes it easy for the defense. Key on LeBron, and if the other guys jump up and bite you, you can live with it. It's not going to happen every night.
The series is heading back to Cleveland, so I think they'll win Game 5, but after that, it goes back to Orlando. The Magic have showed that they aren't afraid of LeBron and the Cavs, especially at home. I've been really impressed with the composure they've shown.
The playoffs as a whole have been really good this year. I said during a radio show before graduation, that even a non-NBA fan could watch these playoffs and be entertained. I definitely think I'll be watching more NBA in the future.
