Chicago Cubs Baseball is On the Air!

From Wrigley Field in Chicago, it's the Chicago Cubs against the Los Angeles Dodgers.

I'm sitting in the press box at Wrigley Field, covering my first Cubs game. I'm not going to lie, I'm a bit nervous. I've covered stuff before, but it was just IU stuff. Now I feel like I'm in the big leagues. Laugh at me for the cliché, or laugh at me anyway. Hell, I know I shouldn't be nervous, but I am. Could it be that I hope to be up here every day someday? Not only has my WGN internship been going really well, the chance to cover the Cubs is a dream come true. I've been here for about 2 hours, and I was close to scoring an interview with Joe Morgan, and I've met Ron Santo and Pat Hughes. The latter is, in my humble opinion, one of the best announcers in baseball. That's not to take anything away from Ron, but if you've ever listened to a Cubs radio broadcast, you know what I mean.

I wanted to score an interview with Juan Pierre, but I guess he told one of our guys he wanted to lay low tonight.

I'm going to enjoy tonight, and I'll do an NBA Finals Preview later.
